Big Cash Prizes an indie outfit from Stoke on Trent England made this superb video with next to nothing except their true belief in their own immortality as a fucking great band from Northern England. The sound they created goes with the indie scene that emerged from this rotten city a few years back and goes hand in hand with bands like Agent blue (a.k.a The Sport), New Education, Elvis, Motorhead and (are u avin a laf) new boy Robbie Williams of Take That and Fuck Off (dare i say it) F.A.M.E.
Spot the Difference...
Take a look you’ll be pleasantly surprised…Im gona start a campaign to get them back in the Underground (Hanley, Stoke) or Sugar Mill (Hanley, Stoke) b4 Christmas right here and now!!! (Put me and Duncan Hardy on the guest list)
i dunner know much about this band… but this track is mazin….love the line bout the fat cats… what rebels all about…its an anthem bout we the people taking control… for fuc sake 30 years of media infiltration into our homes and all that radio one shite as well nuff kill the strongest spirits mind..we’ve got to take the power back and websites like ours and the amazing freedom to publish our individual thoughts and not some fuckin drama school student or his chief exec with all the power and money to pollute us and our children. They can go fuck em selves!!!!
This track was the warm up tune for The Stone Roses gigs and is an all time classic acid house dance track circa 1989. A Guy Called Gerald also remixed the Fools Gold track by The Stone Roses which is sound, every time i hear it on Napster it takes me back to the raves and indie dance clubs of London where it was played in the early 90′s.
Well people before I begin I would just like to apologise for the lack of contribution towards this site over the past few months. I have been very busy with things out of my control, but you don’t wanna know about that rubbish!!! LOL.
RIGHT!!!! Over them past few Months a fookin amazing band of whom I have posted about before and I do hope that you did manage to check them out when and whilst they were touring, have been progressing and sailing along to the appreciation that they should have….. NEW EDUCATION…. They have just released there New Single ANOTHER MIRACLE on the 13th of July, they also had a very honest write up in NME and well lets say that it was how a write up shud be, no rubbish about how bands sound like another band or there a new type of music.
Here is The Track Another Miracle
Here is a lovely piece of footage Live In The Underground Stoke Enjoy The song is called TODAY
Also whilst this post was under construction it has come to my attention and hopefully yours another graceful 2 page Write up about them in NME has been done you can see this in the 1st of August issue pages 18 & 19 possibly one of the top dollar write ups I have seen. I sincerly hope you go and buy it.
You can check there tuneage via their page on Myspace.!!!!!!!!
In my opinion I’m hoping this is the start of something great for the Music scene. A band that dunner fuckin moan about the same old crap, remember you only live once, times ARE fuckin hard and life is tough, so get a grip and get use to it!, make the most of what you have not what you cant!
This track appeared on the Coming Up Album 1997. I think, as you’ll agree, this is Brett Anderson’s best effort…i just love that downbeat guitar crashing around as he sings his heart out about London’s down and outs.
Apart from looking like a cross between Beetlejuice and that bitch off “Through the Cakehole” this dude has serious stlye and charisma. Robert Smith and The Cure for those few of you who don’t know defined a generation and transformed the English music scene into what it is today influencing some of the greatest bands then and now.
I was hooked at 14 (that was 1986 if you’d like to know my age) having robed my my older brothers tapes (and its not just for those art school airheads). They took us from punk and early electronica and the new romantic scene into one of the very first few English indie bands and later then going on to conquer the mainstream with their mix of synths, drum machines and whirling tube screaming guitars over laid with the voice of a tortured misfit with a highly expressive voice and creative lyrics with immaculately timed one liners to blow you away.
Now there part of musical history and bound to release only rehashed compilation albums to sell their new stuff to the iTunes crowd who accept The Cure as part of the mainstream establishment sad that is as I so miss that raw edge and the underground is always much more fun.
Check this track out: The Kiss taken from the 1987 Album Kiss Me Kiss Me Kiss Me.
Since the 1960′s America has failed to provide the world with any decent bands. Oh you say The Doors, The Velvet Underground. Well The Smashing Pumpkins in my opinion are the best band from the U.S.A. since Nirvana. This tracks taken from the 1979 e.p. Virgin Records 1996 and it rocks!! Get it on….subscribe to the podcast for more great music..Join The Rebellion!!!
Russell Brand will play a swashbuckling 14th century hero in a new action comedy. The former NME Awards host, who is currently starring in comedy Get Him To The Greek, is in talks to play the title role in Hawkwood, based on the life of 14th century mercenary John Hawkwood. Hawkwood was a gifted swordsman off dubious morality who was paid to fight on behalf […]
